Volunteer

Skagit Special Olympics is operated entirely by volunteers.

Volunteers are fundamental to every sport program and event. Skagit Special Olympics is always looking for caring volunteers willing to assist. Whether you are a seasoned coach or have no experience at all, you are welcome to come help our athletes. All we look for is enthusiasm and a passion to make a difference. The most important job for our volunteers is to provide direction and encouragement to each athlete. Your presence alone can make a difference.

We ask that you come ready to participate and have fun. Volunteers do not have to commit to an entire sports season. Come when you can.

Skagit Special Olympics provides ten weeks of sports training and athletic competition, each season, for children (eight years of age and older) and adults with intellectual disabilities. Our primary goal is to provide a quality experience in sports training and competition with a focus on friendship and FUN !

We strive to help athletes learn the basic skills of a sport and the rules of the game. Coaches can receive training and certification through clinics offered by Special Olympics.
